Spanish American Club of Citrus County

The Spanish American Club of Citrus County is a non-profit organization and has been in existence since 1987.  We  hold five dances a year:  a Halloween dance, New Year's Eve dance, Valentine's dance, Spring dance and an Anniversary/Installation dance.  We also enjoy Sunday socials, Thanksgiving and Holiday dinners, Wine and Cheese parties, an annual picnic and other outings and fundraisers.  We participate in community activities such as the Inverness Christmas Parade and the International Food Festival.  We hold an annual Golf Tournament which enables us to give Scholarships to High School Seniors in Citrus County.  This year we awarded four $1,000.00 scholarships.  We have an Angel Network that offers comfort and support to members who have suffered a hardship and are in need of assistance.  Our Angels also go to local hospitals, rehab facilities and nursing homes in the communtiy and offer companionship to those people who may be lonely and in need of friendship.  Our meetings are held the third Thursday of the month at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Route 486 in Lecanto beginning at 7:00 p.m.  The general meeting is followed by a social hour.  Cake and coffee is served and music is played for dancing and entertainment.  We offer FREE merengue lessons for members only.  Membership is open to anyone over the age of 18 and who is willing to participate in the objectives of the organization and to take part in the club's activities.  A minimal donation of $20.00 is required per person for membership.  Sponsorship is also available for an annual fee of $100.00 per business.  Sponsors can promote their businesses through our newsletter the Que Pasa, which is mailed monthly to approximately two hundred members.  Members are urged to patronize your business and utilize your services.  Anyone interested in joining the club or for additional information, please call Maribel Richer (President) at 352.344.5170 or Louis Olivero (Vice President) at 352.746.4889.  Please click on the attachment to download the member and sponsor application.
