I just read today in the Chronicle that the FDA thinks its perfectly OK to feed the tainted pet food that was recalled to pigs and chickens that we human consume! Their logic is that we eat other things so we shouldn't worry. Well people think back to DDT. We nearly lost the American Bald Eagle because they ate animals that ate the fruits that had been sprayed with DDT. With that logic the eagles should have been fine. They ate other animals and fish. Well, they weren't fine. Most of them were dead. Many more were sterile. I for one am very concerned For those of you who are concerned for your pet's health since then and want to make your own dog and cat food, Pitcairn's guide has some good healthy recipes. I have some as well and I will be happy to share them with any concerned pet owner. Nutro and Wysong are some manufacturers that were not listed in the recall.
