501 W MAIN STREET
INVERNESS, FL 34450
Phone: 352-726-2271

Hooper Funeral Homes & Crematory are full service funeral homes, serving Citrus County since 1946. In 1970, Lowell and Ruth Hooper became owners of the funeral homes. Now, their son Dwight L. Hooper serves as a second-generation funeral director at the funeral homes. As family owned and operated funeral homes, we are fully committed to the communities we serve and live in.

Hooper Funeral Homes & Crematory have three locations in Citrus County including Inverness, Beverly Hills and Homosassa. We also provide extra comfort to the families we serve by owning our own crematory. This means your loved one never leaves our family’s care, even when you choose cremation.

Additional locations: Homosassa and Beverly Hills

Our History

The Inverness Businesses Leaders (formally known as Old Town Association) was founded in 1994 by a group of concerned business owners. Times had changed from the days when the Courthouse was the social center of the city. With much of the population growth happening in the burgeoning suburban developments, there was a need to create events to draw the community back to the "town square". Since that time the Association has been an integral catalyst in helping conceive of events like the Patriotic Evening (July 4th), 50's style Street Dance/car rally, Thunder in the Hills boat races, Uncle Sam Jam, Festival of the Arts, Music on the Square and the Cooter Festival just to name a few.

Our Association currently boasts a membership comprised of residents, local business people and professionals. All of us share the same appreciation for our unique community and are committed to its vitality. Over and above the wonderfully creative ideas that have been generated by this amazing group of involved, supportive members, is the fact that this is a true "member supported" organization.

Yearly dues help to facilitate the various programs and promotions, but it is the people who care enough to keep this organization going that deserve the credit. Each president has had a chance to add another spark to the success of the Inverness Businesses Leaders and to make their mark in our history. Our committee volunteers make everything happen. As our motto says: "It's About Community!"

The Inverness Businesses Leaders is helping to pave the way for Inverness and its future. We have different challenges to face, fresh faces adding to the talent pool and hopefully a greater number of members becoming involved. The talent, brainpower and resources for success are all here.
